I'm thankful that my children like me and that I like them. We also love each other, but the liking feels much more important during these tween and teen years.
We can laugh together, cry together, yell together, and still like each other at the end of the day. When they tell me they like having me as their mom it means at least as much to me as them telling me they love me because loving each other is often the easy part. The liking requires really knowing each other, spending time together, forgiving, understanding, and being flexible.
I like being Bug's and Peanut's mom. They make life a fun ride.
