Just this perfect moment that happened driving home from Peanut's riding lesson last week. Sometimes I wish time would stop like this, but more of a pause button, than a permanent stop.
I don't really want to stop time. I like the bits of awesome that slip into view when the dark seems like it's going to take over. I like the laughter that comes from unexpected places, new people, or old friends. I like the calf in front of the red barn who waits just around the corner of a country road for you on an overcast day. I like all of that far too much to want to literally stop time.
Instead, I take pictures of time so I can hold onto the moments for when the words disappear. There are always those moments when the words don't come. Those are the times when I need time to stop. Those are the times I need the pictures to fill in the space between.
