I Wrote It: The Obituary

Robert “Bob” Anthony Norling passed away peacefully at home in
Livermore on April 18, 2010, surrounded by the love of his children,
wife, and a close family friend after a year-long battle with
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Leah Rollins Norling, his two
children, son Drew, and daughter Audrianna, all of Livermore. He is
also survived by his parents, Jon and Audrey Norling, siblings Loraine
Silva, David Norling (Amani), Steve Norling, Jim Norling (Karen),
Theresa Doede (Kevin). He is also loved and missed by countless
nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bob was the youngest of six children of Jon and Audrey Norling, born
January 20, 1970 in San Jose, California. He graduated from Piedmont
Hills High School in 1988. Bob met and fell in love with Leah when he
was a freshman at California State University, Chico in 1989. After
graduating in 1993, they were married the next year, and moved to
Sunnyvale, CA where their first child, Drew, was born in 1996. Less
than a year later, they made the move to Livermore. Their daughter,
Aunnie, was born the following year. Bob was an avid golfer and
dirt-bike enthusiast. He loved to race in enduros and hare scrambles
with friends, but his ultimate passion was his family, and they will
miss him greatly.

A viewing will be held Saturday, April 24, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Callaghan
Mortuary in Livermore. A memorial mass will be held at Saint Charles
Borromeo in Livermore on Monday, April 26 at 11 am. A celebration of
Bob's life will follow with a reception immediately following. The
