Tomorrow, my brother and his wife will climb:
69 flights of stairs
788 feet of vertical elevation
The Big Climb is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Washington/Alaska Chapter's largest fundraiser. In 2009, 6,000 participants ran, walked, and, well, crawled up the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle. In the end over $1.3 million was raised to fight blood cancers. They're expecting another record breaking crowd and hope to reach their goal of $1.4 million raised in 2010. All proceeds go towards LLS' mission to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Climb on, Seattle!
