Kauai, how do I miss thee.....
Okay, I cannot dwell on the sadness of returning to "real life" after our fabulous week in Hawaii. Well, I can, but I won't. Time to move on.
As a way to cheer myself up, I've started my Christmas shopping. Today, I purchased a number of fab finds from sellers at Etsy. If you aren't familiar with Etsy, get your butt over there and check it out. Handmade. Artisan. Vintage. Unique. Organic. Funky. Fun. Something for everyone on your list. I swear. Plus, you're buying from the source of the coolness. No big box stores. No mass marketing. No run of the mill. Makes you feel good about being a consumer. If you're not sure where to start, check out the sidebar on my blog. There's button there with some of my Etsy favorites.
The other great place to find out about cool finds on Etsy AND maybe even win some schwag from Etsy sellers is from my bud over at O'neal's Real Deal. There's another button in my sidebar that links to her BIG ASS GIVEAWAY. Or, if you're lazy, click on the big ass Xmas tree in this post.
Of course, I don't want you to win all the stuff, because I want some too. Like that bag...TOO CUTE. In addition to O'neal's giveaway, you should poke around her blog and read some stuff. She's a cool chic.
The other way I'm coping with my return to the mainland is fantasizing about the week we just purchased at a timeshare in Princeville. See, Hubs and I were having our last cocktail in Kauai when we hopped on ebay. Lo and behold, a timeshare week for sale in the exact resort we were sitting in at that moment. The price was too good to be true. Sometimes a shitty economy can be your friend. We snatched it up. So, kids, we are going back. Hopefully for 2 weeks next time. I think there are at least 2 shave ice places I didn't get to try.
