Pardon our dust, it's nearly the end of the school year and I cannot seem to get motivated to do a damn thing, well, except watch movies, read, eat and imbibe. What else is there to do really?
As the parent of a son with Asperger's Syndrome I could not pass up seeing Mozart and the Whale. I thought the movie showed some of the diversity seen among those on the spectrum, told a sweet love story and was constantly entertaining. It probably helped that it's loosely based on a true story.
The night before, we finally saw Saving Grace. It was laugh-out-loud funny. It was like Weeds does the UK. Loved it! Craig Ferguson is proving to be a skilled writer and actor.
The final movie in the group was Thumb Wars: The Phantom Cuticle by writer Steve Oedekerk, a Star Wars spoof featuring an all-thumb cast. It's a must-see for any Star Wars fan, young or old. Bug has watched it no fewer than 4 times. At a dinner Saturday night, we met another couple who own the entire thumb-themed collection with such titles as Thumbtanic, The Blair Thumb, and Godthumb. We rushed home to add the rest to our Netflix queue.
